Thought I’d put this here. This is an old book that I’ve referenced many times over the years. It’s from 1974 and targets DIY’s/farmers on a verity of ways to produce power.
It covers some basic plans for making your own power with:
- Wind (electricity focus)
- Water (mechanical focus)
- Wood (heating focus)
- Methane (heating focus)
- and Solar (heating focus)
I’ve especially been interested in the methane digesters, aka biogas, chapter since it covers turning animal manure into clean fertilizer (kills off weed seeds, and parasites) and biogas along with cheaply storing the methane. It has a number of tables and charts showing good mixes for different feedstock materials and several plans to make batch, continuous, and larger scale “lagoon” digesters.
It is more or less doing the same thing as the “mini-biogas plans” on here. But is maybe a good source of research material.
